Denis Martin-Laval (far right on the picture), was for long the doctor aboard Jacques Cousteau’s famous “La Calypso” ship. He passed away at the age of 82 years.

He attended many missions alongside the Cousteau team and participated in the shooting of the documentary “The Silent World”, which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes Festival in 1956.

His friend, Albert Falco, who used to be Captain of “La Calypso”, passed away a few months earlier, in April 2012.
